2003 : 32 "Dying in Stereo" by Northern State

There is something about this Northern State album. I listened to it over and over again. I got it right before a road trip I took. I just could not stop listening to it. It was like there was a code for me to break. It was a strange combo of lo-fi hip-hop, conscious rap, and post-riotgrrrl rock. I am not sure how many rap albums can I use the term feminist with a straight face. One of the things makes Dying In Stereo interesting is that lacks the overproduced sickness that is all over '00 hip-hop.
